โฆ Synopsis
Yarnell did indeed list his credentials as a naturopathic physician, and at the end of the article he was listed as a board member of the Botanical Medicine Academy, a specialty board for using herbs (1). In his article, he mentioned the use of blue cohosh to stimulate labor, not black and blue cohosh as I erroneously stated in my article. The statement "Castor oil taken internally is thought to cause hyperemia of the intestinal tract . . ." was supposed to have been referenced to Remington's Pharmaceutical Sciences (2). This reference was number 36 in our article and was probably deleted when we had a computer crash. I sincerely apologize to Dr. Yarnell and the Journal.
