✦ Synopsis

Nascent Doppler profiles are measured for hot H-atom-molecule collisions in numerous rotational sublevels of two symmetric tops. Linewidths for CDF, molecules due to hot H-atom collisions increase with the quantum number K. In contrast, linewidths for CDsF molecules due to hot H-atom collisions decrease with the quantum number K. A simple model is proposed to explain the K dependent linewidths.
