✦ Synopsis
The influence of local molecular geometry on the carboxyl i3C chemical shielding tensom in some organic molecules is investi-Sated. The ur2 component of the tensor shows a linear variation as a function of the OCO bond angle around the carboxyl carbon. The significance of the symmetry factors calculated for these compounds is discussed.
