Henkel to acquire Yugoslav firm
A €14 M bid from Henkel to obtain a 70% stake in Yugoslavian soaps and detergents producer DP Merima has been approved by Yugoslavia's privatization agency. Henkel was the only bidder. Henkel is to invest €100 M in Merima over the next 10 years. Henkel had a 13% rise in 2Q operating profits to €168 M, on sales up 3% to €2.5 bn.
