β¦ Synopsis
Cor triatriatum dexter is a rare cardiac anomaly in which a membrane divides the right atrium into two chambers.' The septating membrane is believed to represent persistence of the right valve of the sinus venosus and may exhibit a variety of anatomical arrangements2 with possible obstruction of the tricuspid valve orifice, right ventricular outflow tract, inferior vena cava, or atrial septal defect. Moreover, the anomaly is commonly associated with important cardiac malformations, especially involving the tricuspid and pulmonary valves.'T2 Accordingly, the clinical features may vary considerably from no symptoms at all to signs of systemic venous hypertension, hypoxia, cyanosis, or supraventricular arrhythmias.
