✦ Synopsis

ESR dating was made at the Valles caldera by using the Al center and Ti center in quartz grains separated from the layers of the Valles Rhyolite. Obtained ESR ages were much younger than those by other methods (fission track and 39Ar-40Ar). A reported thermal event of about lo-40 ka ago might explain the difference between the above ages.
