Barrett (Rhett) Aldersonβs thirteen year old great-grandson, Dale, has come to visit him at the Good Life Retirement Home where Rhett lives to interview him for a school project. Instead of telling Dale what life was like when Rhett was thirteenβthe topic for the interviewβRhett tells him about his mother who had committed suicide after suffering with mental illness for many years when he was eleven and her cookie jar which he inherited. After her death, Rhett and his brother Jack discover it is no ordinary cookie jar.
The story was written and released in full for VQR Magazine. Itβs a nice short read and according to the magazine should only take around 45 minutes (probably less) to finish.
