Abstract
The analysis as a stationary method of the spatial domain decomposition (SDD) technique with several enhancements is studied in this article. In particular, we consider two of the most popular modifications of the SDD method: (i) extension of the domains and (ii) introduction of a relaxation parameter. Despite both modifications, we show that the method can still be formulated as a stationary method and, therefore, the convergence study can be derived from the iteration matrix. Several examples for threeβdimensional geometries are considered to check the validity of the formulation. Β© 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract A domain decomposition scheme linking linearized kinetic and aerodynamic equations is considered. Convergence of the alternating scheme is shown. Moreover the physical correctness of the obtained coupled solutions is discussed.
