β¦ Synopsis
The controUed complexation of the emeraldine base of poly(o-toluidine) with palladium(H) compounds was achieved in an organic solvent to afford structurally defined conjugated polymer complexes. Two coordination sites are used for complexation in the case of PdCOAc)2 Β’t PdCI2(MeCN) 2, in contrast to only one coordination site available for the pailadium(l~ complex besing the tridmtate ligand, Two imine moieties axe capable of participating in the complexation in the former e~e, possibly affording a cross-linked d,n-conjugated netwodΒ’ system. On the contrary, a d,~-conjugated single-strand system is considwed to be formed in the latter case.
