A controlled coherence-transfer experiment is demonstrated experimentally which uses several chemical-shift selective tailored TOCSY mixing periods. The multiple-step tailored TOCSY experiment can dramatically increase the sensitivity relative to a broadband TOCSY experiment and offers the possibility of experimental recognition of specific coupling patterns.
