Control system design package

A control system design package that runs on IBM PCs and compatibles has been announced by Cambridge Control. The package is called Simbol and fits on one floppy disc with help facilities provided on a second disc.

According to Cambridge Control, Simbo] can simulate the time responses or analyse the frequency characteristics of a range of linear, nonlinear and digital control systems.

Systems can be defined interactively on the screen using standard block diagram notation. Their dynamic characteristics can be investigated by frequency response or time simulation. The analysis and utility functions are menu-driven.

The package costs £895 (excluding VAT).
