Contributions to the knowledge of the Cladocera Fauna of China 235

June, 1930. Mr. T u n g had also been kind enough to collect a plankton-material for me in Chung-king, Province of Szechwan, on his zoological expedition to Western China in October of 1929. All these valuable materials being put under my disposal, made out to contain several cladocerans of much interest, partly because there occured some hitherto unrecorded species in Middle and Southern China and partly we were able to know some important facts on geographical distribution of Cladocera.

It is my great pleasure to acknowledge the kindness of Mr. Y u h Mao T u n g and P r o f e s s o r T. K a w a m u r a who gave me opportunities to examine these valuable materials from the territories still very little explored.
