β¦ Synopsis
IN ORDER to determine fission-track ages as a contribution to the FTD interlaboratory calibration suggested by A. J. Hurford and P. F. Green (1982), different methods have been carried out on apatites and sphenes (HG 57/4).
We have compared the results obtained by two techniques, namely population method and external detector method. Furthermore, makrofol and kapton polymeric films and mica muscovite have been employed as external detectors in which we have to take into account the registration and etching efficiencies.
With our experimental conditions, the first results give, for instance, 1.63 for kapton detector.
