โฆ Synopsis
The electrostatic contribution to the bending moduli of an amphiphilic monolayer is calculated on the basis of the Poisson-Boltzmann equation. The electrical free energy for a spherical and cylindrical surface is expanded in inverse powers of the radius of curvature a. The coefficient (l/a) 2 in the electrical free energy gives the bending elastic moduli.
