Contrast

-induced nephrotoxicity (CIN) is a common concern among angiographers. The causes of CIN are not well understood and the identification and preparation of patients at risk are important. This report reviews the literature concerning the causes and identification of patients at risk and documents the studies that are available to improve the safety of cardiac catheterization and cardiac interventions by reducing the risk of CIN.
