✦ Synopsis
Abstract
A novel coherence‐free microwave photonic notch filter is presented. It is based on an off‐loop‐centre phase modulator Sagnac loop with an unbalanced Mach Zehnder interferometer at the loop output. Experimental results are presented, which demonstrate the filter tunability and show an equivalent negative‐tap notch filter response with a wide passband. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
