✦ Synopsis
The continuous shape transformations of a fluid membrane bounded vesicle starting from a sphere are determined with minimizing the bending energy. A particular choice of the variables and the fine points of computations are presented. The computations show the pathways to cell division and to gastrulation. 0 1997 Elsevier Science B.' 114..127.

In particular, the electric pore formation in lipid vesicles, doped with optical probes, has been successfully investigated with electrooptical te
## Abstract A theoretical model of a two-component bilayer membrane was used in order to describe the influence of anisotropic membrane inclusions on shapes of membrane daughter micro and nano vesicles. It was shown that for weakly anisotropic inclusions the stable vesicle shapes are only slightly
