✦ Synopsis
Cold windows 9 are made of Hg-stabilized silver chloride plates fixed between the silver-plated flanges (for more details see reference 1). The transmission range at a 80% level is 0.45-23 #m.
The outer windows are made of KBr and have vacuum-tight rubber packings.
Before using the cryostat the vacuum space should be evacuated through vacuum valve 10 down to a pressure of 10 -3 torr (10 N m -2) and then hermetically sealed.
