A fully nonpolynomial framework for closed string held theory is studied. All interactions are geometrical, the pattern of string overlaps gives polyhedra with equal perimeter faces and three edges at each vertex. All interactions are cubic in the sense that at most three strings can coincide at a p

Abstract
We discuss the interplay between field theories and string theory in the quest for new fixed points of the renormalization group. First, we use the recent ideas of Lunin and Maldacena (LM) to make new predictions about the soβcalled Ξ³βdeformation of π© = 4 by taking a Penrose limit which leads to a solvable string theory background. We then extend the LM construction to deal with three dimensional field theories, we study the supersymmetry preservation of the Ξ³βdeformed backgrounds, and we obtain the lagrangian deformations of the corresponding dual field theories.

## Abstract We construct a set of tachyonic lumps in Vacuum String Field Theory that, in the presence of a background __B__ field, give in the low energy limit exactly the complete sequence of noncommutative GMS solitons.
