✦ Synopsis


The use of the continuous wavelet transform and the discrete wavelet transform in analyzing the propagation of optical pulses in nonlinear dispersive fibers is discussed. The analysis is based on the split-step wavelet algorithm which reaches reasonable accuracy as compared to the well-known split-step Fourier method.
