The eucalyptus, common tree of Australia, appears dry, gnarled and not quite hospitable to the outstanding observer. Underneath its bark, however, this tree hosts a community of little animals: Up to 100,000 carabidsa group of insects embracing an estimated 35,000 species -find protection from sun, heat and predators in these fissured trees.
