โœฆ Synopsis


The role of plasma activation in the gas phase epoxidation of propylene with molecular oxygen was reported for the first time. The plasma was obtained by applying dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) to the mixture of oxygen and propylene at room temperature and atmospheric pressure. The reaction experiment was carried out in the absence of catalyst. When discharges voltage is 21 kV, discharges frequency is 1.38 kHz, O 2 /C 3 H 6 molar ratio is 200/1, flow velocity of the mixture of O 2 and C 3 H 6 is 160.8 mL/min, the conversion to propylene is ๏ผž80% and the selectivity to PO is ๏ผž30%.
