โฆ Synopsis
Giant papillary conjunctivitis (GPC) is an ocular inflammation which is often, but not exclusively related to contact lens wear. The symptoms include itchy eyes, ocular discomfort, reduced contact lens tolerance and blurred vision. The signs of GPC are large conjunctival papillae, excess mucgus production and hyperemia. The treatment of GPC includes: discontinuation of lens wear; re-education on proper lens hygiene; changing contact lens type and design; and/or pharmacological agents. A review of the clinical characteristics of GPC along with its treatment and management are discussed.
