โœฆ Synopsis

The paper discusses proposed solutions for constraint-based modelling, with special emphasis on constructive approaches. A new constructive scheme is proposed that is based on a nonevaluated, constructive solid model. The model definition language is presented and discussed, with the general architecture of the system and the structure of the internal model representation. The proposed approach supports the instantiation of predefined models, parametric geometric operations in 1 D, 2D and 3D, variable topologies, and operations with structural constraints.

A central issue in dealing with geometric constraint systems for CAD/CAM/CAE is the generation of an optimal decomposition plan that not only aids efficient solution, but also captures design intent and supports conceptual design. Though complex, this issue has evolved and crystallized over the past

## Abstract We present a fast goalโ€directed motion synthesis technique that integrates sampleโ€based planning methods with constraintโ€based dynamics simulation using a finite element formulation to generate collisionโ€free paths for deformable models. Our method allows the user to quickly specify var
