✦ Synopsis

A construction of orthogonal wavelet bases in (L_{2}\left(R^{d}\right)) from a multiresolution analysis is given when the scaling function is skew-symmetric about an integer point. These wavelets are real-valued when the scaling function is real-valued. As an application, orthogonal wavelets generated by polyharmonic (B)-splines are obtained. We also present an example to show that the center of a skew-symmetric scaling function may not be in (Z^{d} / 2). 1995 Academic Press. Inc.

## Abstract The Rician distribution of noise in magnitude magnetic resonance (MR) images is particularly problematic in low signal‐to‐noise ratio (SNR) regions. The Rician noise distribution causes a nonzero minimum signal in the image, which is often referred to as the rectified noise floor. True

A new technique of real-value representation in inversion-recovery (IR) imaging by use of a phase-correction method is proposed. ## Abstract In this paper we are concerned with the three‐dimensional homogeneous isotropic elastostatic boundary‐value problem. Global basis vector fields are shown to be constructive structures for approximating the solution. The theoretical tool is a regularity condition developed from the class
