✦ Synopsis

The expansion of the facility in Shandong Province, China, includes General Electric supplying two 660 MW turbine-generator units, under a contract valued at US$160 million. The two new coal-fired units will boost the plant's operating capacity by 1320 MW, to 2520 MW. One of the turbines is expected to come into operation in the fourth quarter of 2001, and the other is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2002.
