โœฆ Synopsis

Consistent utility and probability assessment is outlined using the reciprocal matrix methodology of AHP. By analyzing the reciprocal matrix formed from the initial judgements, it becomes apparent whether or not underlying axioms of the measurement process have been satisfied. In some cases, a series of independent judgements may be adjusted and reconciled with the underlying axioms. In other cases, the methodology makes clear at an early stage in the decision process that the measurement axioms fail.

Two different ways of using the AHP in making group decisions are compared and evaluated. The first method combines different experts' opinions before applying an eigenvalue method to obtain final weights for decision alternatives. The second, in contrast, derives each expert's rating for the decisi

A software package AHP-DRASTIC has been developed to derive ratings and weights of modified DRASTIC model parameters for use in specific aquifer vulnerability assessment studies. The software is integrated with ArcView Geographical Information System (GIS) software for modelling aquifer vulnerabilit
