โฆ Synopsis
Quantities conserved to O(c-a), for a closed system of charged particles in motion, are derived from the electromagnetic energy-momentum tensor by making use of a fluid description. These quantities are compared with those derived from the Darwin Lagrangian. The approximation is taken one step beyond to O(c-s, to show explicitly how quantities that are conserved to 0 (c-") change with time when electric-dipole radiation is later taken into account.
