β¦ Synopsis
In this study of conservative Christians' expectations of counseling, 100 participants rated their expectations of the behaviors and attitudes of a nonβChristian counselor. Results suggest that highly religious Christians expected more inβsession religious behaviors from a nonβChristian counselor than did moderately religious Christians. Both moderately and highly conservative Christians expected a nonβChristian counselor to display attitudes of acceptance and tolerance for Christian beliefs.
