β¦ Synopsis
The trans conformations of methyl, ethyl and isopropyl formate were shown to be present in equilibrium in a polar solvent with the cis conformations to significant (> 1% at 230K) but much lower extents than for t-butyl fox-mate; rotational barriers for the former compounds are greater.
Extensive investigation of the conformational isomerism in esters arising from rotation about the C-O single bond has demonstrated that the planar cis major conformer but evidence about the relative importance conformation has been contradictory.' conformation is the of the planar trans 0

Microwave spectra of benzyl fluoride have been observed on a pulsed-jet Fourier transform microwave spectrometer in the range 4-25 GHz. Many of the rotational transitions display tunneling splittings from internal rotation between the phenyl and CH 2 F groups. Rotational and centrifugal distortion c
The conformati ons and the rotational barriers of the 2-substituted 1,3-diphenylallylanions lb-g (Tab.2) have been determined. Increasing size of the substituents leads tomore exo,endo-and endo,endo-conformers at the cost of the exo,exo-species. This trend is connected with decreasing AG\*-values of
