We present nn analysis ofemission spectra.obtainc, 4 in polar and non-polar solvents and at dilrcrent temperatures, for :I series of aniline derivatives excited at diffcrcnt wavelengths.

In~Q~orrlrnt chanfcs in the inlcnsizy and polarization of the emission arc shown to bc due to conformational cfl'ec~s of the amino group which strongly chnnyes the molecular desactivation dynamics. This interprcration is shown ro be consistent also with the absorption spectrl.
