✦ Synopsis

The condensation between thioglycolic ethyl ester and benzylideneacetophenone is stereoselective and gives only one of the four hydroxythiophanic diastereoisomers. Analysis of i.r. and PMR data is unable to give precisely its configuration and its major conformer. A computer analysis of PMR-LIS data (solution), using the Newton non-linear least-squares algorithm, only shows the conformer present in the solid state.

RCsum&La condensation entre le thioglycolate d'bthyle et la benzylidbne acttophenone donne exclusivement fun des quatre diastereoisombres hydroxythiophaniques. L'analyse des donntes i.r. et RMN ne permet pas de pr&iser sa configuration et sa conformation la plus stable. Les deplacements chimiques induits par un complexe de l'europium sont analyses a l'aide dune mtthode de moindres car& (algorithme de Newton).

L'aceord est uniquement obtenu pour la structure du conformbre present dans le cristal.
