✦ Synopsis
This year's Symposium was a great success, with an unprecedented number of delegates keen to interact with presenters, exhibitors and other delegates. Despite the appalling news from New York and Washington -which broke on the first afternoon -the participants picked themselves up again, and continued with renewed enthusiasm to work for the common good in the context of clean, renewable energy.
This year 540 delegates attended (about 200 more than in 1999), as well as a hundred who came for the greatly expanded exhibition. Parallel sessions on the middle day recognized the huge amount of work in hand worldwide. This, as well as the presentation of some 120 posters, helped to ensure more coverage.
