β¦ Synopsis
The electrical conductivity has been investigated of the solid electrolyte RbAgJ5 in the vicinity of phase transitions taking place at temperatures 7', = f21.8"K and T3 = 209Β°K. Measurements were carried out both on single crystals and on polycrystalline specimens. The transition at T1 was found to be extended over a certain temperature range, and hysteresis was observed. In the case of the transition at 4 a conductivity jump was observed in single crystal specimens. The results obtained are discussed in terms of a theoretical model, suggested for describing the transition of solid electrolytes into the superionic state.
