โœฆ Synopsis

Ah&act-The synthesis of the 4-(3-indolyl)-oxazol-2-one, a potential protein kinase C inhibitor, was performed by using electrochemistry as key step. The anodic methoxylation of an oxazolidin-2-one was achieved by this way in good yield. The high selectivity of the electrochemical method allowed then the aromatic carbon-bromine bond hydrogenolysis and the cleavage of N-oxazolone protecting group in a one-pot process simply by adjusting the appropriate cathodic potential.
