✦ Synopsis
This book is designed to provide a bridge between theoretical and applied aspects of ordinary differential equations. It is derived from a course given at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur to students of mathematics, engineering and physics. The author also mentions students of biological and social sciences. The book has been used for a one-year course on ordinary differential equations at senior undergraduate or master's level at the Institute.
Chapter 1 introduces the notation and definitions and goes on to discuss the Existence, Uniqueness and Continuation of Solutions.
Chapters 2 and 3 are on Linear Systems and the Stability of Linear and Weakly Nonlinear Systems respectively.
Chapter 4 deals with Second Order Differential Equations, Boundedness of Solutions, Oscillatory Equations and makes some reference to Classical CONCEPTS AND APPLICATIONS OF FINITE ELE-MENT ANALYSIS, 2nd edn, R. D. Cook, Wiley,
