The reaction of methane in the nitrogen afterglow is studied by combination of direct measurements and computer experiment. Theexperimental data were obtained by optical emission spectroscopy of the discharge, by gas chromatography of resulting stable products and by probe diagnostics of charged spe

The simultaneous radial and axial decay in the flowing afterglow plasma has been investigated for metastable atoms, atomic and molecular ions and electrons. The exact solution of this problem leads to a set of differential equations. The stability of the numerical solution of these equations is not

Chemical reactions initiated by the dissociation of methane in the nitrogen Β―owing afterglow have been studied by the computer modelling. The input experimental data were obtained from the microwave CH 4 /N 2 plasma. The modelling of methane decomposition was based on a macroscopic kinetic approach.
