✦ Synopsis
Analytic expressions for the concentration distribution of reactant and for effectiveness factor have been obtained for zero-order catalytic reactions of the type A -+ bB. They can be summarized for various physical forms of catalyst to be 1 + mC l + m and where f(J), g(&, h te, -, and M i are differently defined for thin-disk ( j = l), i 3 infinite-cylinder ( j = 2), and spherical ( j = 3) geometries. The results are also presented graphically for rapid calculotion of these quontities. The phenomenon of reactant exhaustion associated with a zero-order reaction and the criteria for i t s occurrence are also discussed.
