✦ Synopsis

The adsorption of thiourea and thieeyanate on active and passivated iron/aqueous electrolyte interfaces has been investigated, in situ, with radiotracers and with Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. Good agreement was observed for the results obtained from both techniques. The concentration and potential dependence of the adsorption have been interpreted in terms ofcurrent theories ofadsorption from solution. takina into account solvent disnhxcement from the electrode upon adsorption, and the orientation _ of the solvent molecules at different potentials.

In this work the evolution of the surface concentration, surface potential, and surface tension for adsorption of a charged amphiphile at an interface is studied numerically. While the results are of interest for any amphiphile, the simulations are performed for typical surfactant material parameter
