Das von Olgesellschaften betriebene Buro Concawe in Den Haag berichtet in den beiden Banden iiber die Vcrfahren zur Bekampfnng von olunfallen in Flussen, Seen, Grundwasser und marinen I(iistenbereichen. Es wird auch auf die Verwendung von Dispergatoren eingegangen. \Vichtig ist der Satz "The extent of the clean-up work in various coastal areas should be carefully balanced with the possible ecological damage which may result from a very thorough clean-up act.ivity. Also, purely cosmetic operations should be avoided. In some areasespecially where amenity use of the coast is of minor significance-the ecologically most desirable course of action may be to allow the beached oil to degrade by natural processeq.'' -Die Methoden fur Sandstrande, Wattenbereiche, Felskusten, Aestuarien, Fjorde, Hafen werden getrennt abgehandelt, in der Regel mit dem lapidaren Satz ,,Avoid damage to fishfarms and specialised crop areas."
