Set in Ireland, the action moves between a sleepy (often rainy) village on the west coast of Ireland and the centre of lively Dublin. Maggie, the artist, is strongly independent and has sworn never to marry after seeing the misery of her parents marriage. Rogan, her suitor, has had a privileged background and seems to be strangely in love with his own grandmother. I didnt quite take to Rogan! The story is enjoyable and the setting lovely. I was fascinated by the details of Maggies work as a glass artist. Its left me tempted to give it a try myself.
