PVRC surveys flat face flange designs T he Sealing Reliability Council of the Pressure Vessel Research Council (PVRC) is carrying out a survey of flat face flange designs.

The Sealing Reliability Council was established to condense current technology into a practical and usable format; develop new test, product specification and joint-design procedures; and provide industry training to facilitate practical transfer of this technology to end-users.

As a part of this scope, the council has created a task group to review the methodology for the design of flat face flanges (gasket contact is maintained across the entire width of the flange). To aid the task group in benchmarking what method users are currently employing, a survey is being carried out of gasket manufacturers and users.
