โฆ Synopsis
In September 1977 we welcomed two new book series by Harvester Press in areas relating to man-computer studies. In recent years the importance of this area has come to be widely recognized and a range of books on such topics as human factors in programming and the man--computer interface have appeared. We now warmly welcome a new series that is closely associated with this Journal: Computers and People recently launched by Academic Press. The first two books in the series have already been published: On Becoming a Personal Scientist by Mildred Shaw describes computer programs based on George Kelly's work on personal construct psychology for the interactive computer elicitation of personal models of the world; Communicating with Microcomputers by Ian Witten gives a tutorial guide to microcomputer interfacing, hardware, software and t'.uman factors, and provides an introduction to the technology of man-machine communication.
