β¦ Synopsis
A method utilizing a digitizer tablet and microcomputer to determine the thickness of biological structures is described. The program for the determinations is written in BASIC. The accuracy and reproducibility of the method were confirmed using constructed test models and biological models. The system described is readily available and relatively low in cost.

The optically coupled, indirect coulometric titration (ICT) method has been applied to assist in the characterization of several redox biocomponents such as heme proteins. This method has provided rapid and repetitive evaluation of redox stoichiometry and energetics with a high degree of precision.
