โฆ Synopsis
This paper presents application of computational modeling to four problems of industrial importance. The problems include ventilation and fire spread in highway tunnels, chemical vapor infiltration for manufacturing fiber-reinforced composites, refining hearths used for elimination of impurities in high-performance alloys, and the transport processes in a cement kiln. The noteworthy physical and computational features of each problem are described and some selected results are shown along with comparison with measurements.
