β¦ Synopsis
The positron density distribution and lifetime have been calculated from first principles in the oxide superconductors. The systems studied are La-Cu-O, Y-Ba-Cu-O, Tl-Ba-Ca-Cu-O, Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O and Ba-Bi-O. Doping effects on the positron distribution have also been investigated. The computed lifetimes are compared with experimentally measured values.

## We propose a magnetic diffusion model for the computation of current density distributions in composite superconductors. The two-dimensional model is based on Maxwell's equations and a non-linear constitutive relation between the current density and the electric field. The resulting diffusion
