Aburaet-_ln this paper the stock-out probabiliis are computed at each depot in a parallel multi-installation inventory system operating under a periodic review hint ordering policy in which demand follows an Erlangian distribution. A recurrence relation iskstablished for deriving expressions for the Laplace transform of certain "weighting factors" which appear in the expression for the stock-out probabilities. In addition a recursive scheme is developed for expanding into partial fractions rational functions having in their denominator liir factors with several multiple zeros. These two schemes form the basis for a computational efficient numerical procedure for calculating the required probabilities. Some of the computer output results are exhibited in graphical form.
