A leastaquares program in BASIC is presented for the rigorous calculation of the equilibrium parameters in the dissociation of a polyprotic acid H,A and of the spectra of all the individual species at equilibrium. The behaviour of the program is discussed for a simulated case involving n.m.r. and for a spectrophotometric study of eriochrome black T.
