A single stage reverse Brayton cryocooler using miniature high-speed turbomachines recently completed a successful space shuttle test Β―ight demonstrating its capabilities for use in cooling the Near Infrared Camera and Multi-Object Spectrometer (NICMOS) on the Hubble Space Telescope (HST).
