✦ Synopsis


Compressibility isotherms of deuterium have been measured upto a density of 900 Amagat. The differences between the P V-values of deuterium and those of hydrogen are given. The virial coefficients are calculated and compared with the corresponding data for hydrogen. The results for the second virialcoefficients are discussed in connection with the quantummechanical theory of the equation of state.
